Frequently Asked Questions
- What is CBD?
A: CBD stands for cannabidiol, a compound extracted from cannabis plants, and the main compound found in the hemp plant (cannabinoids). CBD is found in many products including health and wellness, beauty, and edible products. Researchers have found that CBD may have an enormous therapeutic potential on a wide range of conditions.
- Is CBD safe?
A: Unlike THC within marijuana plants, CBD is not psychoactive, and is non-intoxicating, so it does not change a person’s state of mind when they use it. CBD shows no dependency effects on humans. According to multiple studies, there is no evidence of CBD public health-related problems associated with pure CBD. Always consultant with your health care provider or pharmacist about using CBD if concerned about certain medical conditions.
- Is CBD legal?
A: Yes, recent legislation has made CBD-rich hemp oil containing less than 0.3% THC, 100% legal to buy in the United States. Each state has its own law on how CBD is regulated. For more information about a specific state, visit our Blog page.
- What is THC?
A: THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, the main compound found in marijuana plants. THC is what gives marijuana its psychoactive properties or “high” effects. CBD has many health benefits, without producing the psychoactive, “euphoric” effects of THC. “Relaxing but not intoxicating” is how some have described the effect.
- Are CBD and marijuana from the same cannabis plant?
A: No, CBD and marijuana come from different plants. They do, however, come from the same “species” of cannabis plant (cannabis sativa), but there are significant differences between the plants. ZGO CBD comes from hemp, which is exclusively produced by cannabis sativa and has less than 0.3% THC. The marijuana plant has a much higher concentration of THC. Hemp’s chemical profile means that you can’t get “high” from it, and hemp extracts are used to create medicinal remedies, food and oil, as well as other products, including rope, bricks, natural polymers, fiber, clothes and many more.
- How do these cannabinoids interact with the body?
A: Cannabinoids imitate the compounds our bodies naturally produce, called endocannabinoids, that affect nerve, brain, and immune cell activity.
- What is the endocannabinoid system?
A: The “endocannabinoid” system is an integral part of our neuro-immuno-endocrine network. This is the system of organ and tissue signaling in the human body that sends and receives chemical messages and affects many aspects of human health, including mood, pain, inflammation, stress response and immune function.
- How are beauty products made with CBD?
A: Once extracted, CBD can be combined with a carrier oil, which is then incorporated into topical creams, lotions and more.
- How do I know which CBD product to trust?
A: With the popularity of CBD and many products on the market today, it’s important and smart to ask questions about quality and sourcing. Make sure the product you buy has been third party lab tested for the 3 P’s: Potency (how much CBD is in it), Purity (any residual solvents from extraction process) and Pesticides. Third party lab testing should be available on the product website. Best to avoid products extracted with toxic solvents like BHO, propane, hexane, or other hydrocarbons. Instead, opt for products like ZGO, that use cleaner extraction methods such as supercritical CO2. ZGO is devoted to ensuring our products are of the highest quality – meaning potency, purity and consistency are closely monitored and regulated with every aspect of the process for quality control protocol.
- How much CBD is in each softgel?
A: You can purchase either 10 or 25mg softgels from ZGO.
- How many ZGO softgels come in each bottle?
- Is there any THC in ZGO products?
A: No THC is detectable, according to our third-party lab reports.
- What is Hemp and where does the hemp that is used in ZGO products come from?
A: Hemp is a type of Cannabis plant (from the sativa species). It is non-intoxicating and is harvested for industrial products and food. All of the hemp we use in ZGO products is grown in the United States and has less than 0.3% THC. This means we can ensure that you are getting the highest quality CBD from the highest quality plants!
- What’s the difference between a broad spectrum and a CBD isolate?
A: A broad spectrum hemp extract contains many of the naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes and other phytonutrients in the hemp plant while an isolate just has CBD.
- How often can I take CBD?
A: CBD can be taken multiple times each day, or at particular times of day, depending on the reason it is being used.
- When should I take a ZGO softgel?
A: Some people take our softgels in the morning with their daily vitamins while others take them before bed to promote a good night’s rest. Still others take it after a workout to aid their recovery. Your purpose for taking our softgels can drive the schedule you take them on, but remember, consistency will yield the best results!
- What is a CBD tincture?
A: A CBD tincture is a preparation made from CBD extract. It is used orally (swallowed) and can also be used in cooking or baking. Our tinctures do not contain alcohol, although many traditional tinctures do.
- How are softgels different from tinctures?
A: Our softgels are water soluble, which means they are twice as absorbable as a CBD tincture. They also have set amounts of CBD. However, tinctures come in unique flavors and can be added to foods and drinks, so the purpose behind your CBD use should determine which ZGO product you choose.
- How should I store my ZGO products?
A: ZGO products should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
- Is shipping free for ZGO products?
A: Yes, shipping is free on all ZGO orders.
